Registered Nurse (RN) – Director of Med/Surg

Description
Currently recruiting for a Director of the Med Surg unit RN for a major hospital system in the New Orleans area. In this role the Director of Med Surg will be responsible for the following:

The director of Med/Surg has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the medical/surgical unit and their effect on patient care. The director has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of patient care, human resources, and financial management.

The Director of Med/Surg will have Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of nursing practice.
Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills and abilities to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, confront/resolve issues, motivate others, ability to plan, and organize and direct the activities of others.

Requirements
BLS, Louisiana active Nursing license, 5 years clinical experience preferred and a BA with concentration in nursing preferred.
