Director of Nursing for Acute Care Facility – Houston, Texas

Job description:  Currently we have a confidential opportunity for an experienced Director of Nursing for Long Term Acute Care Facilities in Clear Lake (southeast) and Bellaire (inner/more SW area) of Houston.

General Duties for the DON at the Long Term Acute Care Facilities includes:
– Oversee and direct the administrative supervisors and coordinators
– Budgeting
– Patient flow coordination
– Action plans in response to Quality Surveys for improved processes in assigned areas
– Accountable for human resources and fiscal resources, systems, materials, and support necessary to achieve operational goals set forth in the annual nursing and organization strategic plan
– Ensures that the quality of patient care meets legal and professional standards and also acts as a role model for other members of the health care team
– Works closely with executive leadership and other departmental heads

The right candidate will have experience as a Director of an LTAC or Assistant Director of an LTAC, Nurse Manager in the ICU or CCU
• Minimum of two years in nursing leadership role – multi-disciplinary teams preferred
• Experience working in LTAC, ICU, or CCU facilities / departments is preferred
• Considerable knowledge of clinical practice as relates to acute care
• Working knowledge of management principles at Director or Manager level
• Proven leadership skills

Licensure, Registration, Certification:
• Current RN licensure in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain upon hire
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing also will consider BS degree in nursing or another health-related field or business
